District 5470 Operations
As Rotarians across southern Colorado work to deal with the varying degree as to how the CORONAVIRUS is affecting our personal lives, I call you attention to the 2020-2021 Rotary International theme, “Rotary Opens Opportunities.” As we practice social distancing in our communities, I would ask clubs to be proactive, find creative ways to be of service to others. Each city’s needs will be unique and may change daily, just remember our motto “Service Above Self.” Over the next weeks/months try to stay engaged with your Rotary family. Maybe have a club meeting by ZOOM conference, possibly develop an action plan should you need to cancel the club’s fundraiser, or identify a future District Grant project, and above all how can you help club members whose business and lives have been severely impacted.
Just as your club operations have been altered the same is true for District sponsored events. The District Board of Directors have canceled all face to face events through May. Currently these cancelations effect the scheduled District Assemblies and Grant Management Training Seminars. Also the Rotary International Convention has been canceled as well. Your District leadership team is working to formulate content that can be delivered electronically to the membership. Logistics is also an issue that needs to be addressed. Our continued goal is to provide relevant material over all the available platforms.
